COMPLETE THESE STEPS IN ORDER

DONATION GUIDE

 

1. Choose a charity from the list below.

2. Look through your closet for clothes that fit charity's needs/guidelines.

3. Write down the total number of items you are donating (you'll need this later).

4. Take one photo of the clothes before bagging them (first photo).

5. Place clothes into LARGE CLEAR  plastic bags (recommended brand and size) and attach the COINS 4 CLOTHES logo (download here) on each bag with today's date. Bags should be no smaller than 30 Gallons. Using bags smaller than 30 Gallons may impact amount of BCH received.

6.Take a photo of your clothes all bagged up (second photo).

7. Donate the clothes to the charity, ensuring you take photographs of yourself dropping the bags off at the charity site (third photo).

8. If you don't have a BCH wallet already, download and install the Bitcoin.com wallet by following our guide here.

9. Complete the submission form below.

10. Get paid in Bitcoin Cash (BCH)*

Note: You need 3 photo proofs when submitting your form:
 

  • photo before bagging clothes

  • photo after bagging them and taping Coins 4 Clothes logo/date

  • photo of you donating clothes at the charity site. 

*We will reward you with $8 USD in Bitcoin Cash (BCH) for every large clear plastic bag full of clothes, up to a maximum of $40 USD (5 bags) per donation visit. You will also earn $5 USD in BCH if you tweet about your donation experience (with photos or videos). Ensure you tag @Coins4Clothes and use the hashtags: #Coins4Clothes #BCH #BitcoinCash

Refugee Assistance and Immigration Services (Catholic Social Services)

Summary:

Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services (RAIS) provides a bridge for refugees (individuals who have had to flee their countries of origin due to the tragedies of persecution and war) from their former life experiences to the new skills required for success in the United States.  Through a focus on economic self-sufficiency, community integration, and a respect for unique cultures, history and traditions, RAIS creates an environment of compassion and encouragement for refugees to flourish.

During the 2017 fiscal year:

  • RAIS resettled 98 new arrivals.

  • 90% of all employable adults engaged in RAIS were gainfully employed, and 89% of these retained their initial employment for more than 3 months.

  • By the end of clients’ first year in Alaska, 82% of the refugee families served by RAIS no longer relied on public assistance.

  • Winter gloves & hand warmers (all sizes)

  • Winter Hats

  • Winter scarves

  • Ice cleats (sizes S, M, L)

Donations are accepted 10am-11am on Mondays and 3pm-4pm on Thursdays.

Brother Francis Shelter (Catholic Social Services)

Summary:

Brother Francis Shelter, a program of Catholic Social Services, is an emergency shelter for men and women in Anchorage without a home. They serve the homeless with dignity, care, compassion and with an emphasis on moving our guests toward self-sufficiency.

Evening Services: Overnight baggage storage, dinner, showers, laundry, basic medical care, medicine storage, clothing room

Clothes accepted:

New and gently used Adult clothing. Currently Brother Francis Shelter is in need of:

 

  • Men and Women's comfortable season appropriate clothing

  • Shirts, jackets, hats, gloves, hand warmers, socks (all sizes for both men & women)

  • Pants including sweats, track pants, jeans and snow pants.

Donations are accepted 9 am to 8 pm at the address below.
